Furlife News Server

The furlife news server hosts the furlife.* news groups which have been created for discussing lifestyle furry and therianthrope issues. The aim initially is to get alot of the "old gang" of furs who have left ALF over the years back together and communicating again. Access is to signed up users only, so the groups are, and will remain, spam and troll free.

Access is also available via the web as well as your favourite news client. Currently members can read furlife groups. Posting will follow shortly.

Once the service is running well it should be possible to allow some threads to be replicated onto public usenet groups such as alf. The software to allow this, and to moderate the responses will be developed if this service becomes successful. Hopefully this will allow serious discusion of lifestyle topics to still be found on public access news servers.

Furlife membership is open to anyone with a genuine wish to discuss lifestyle topics, and abide by the posting guidelines which made ALF a great place to be. Past posting behaviour on public newsgroups such as ALF provides the best indication of this intent. It is not our intention to deplete the existing readership on ALF, rather to give back some of its focus over time.

If you would like an account on the new server please make an application.

Furlife Wayback Machine

The Wayback Machine is a device that allows furs to travel back in time to the very beginning of the alt.lifestyle.furry newsgroup. Originally a hypothetical device, it has now been realised, and is available to signed up members of Furlife.

It is possibly the largest archive of original alt.lifestyle.furry posts available anywhere. Running from the creation of the newsgroup in 1996 onwards, the archive includes many posts that were never archived by Deja News or Google and those that were removed from these public access services. Furlife brings these posts back for their original intended audience.

Currently the first 100 or so articles are available to browse. More will be loaded over the next few weeks, and the ability to follow up (reply) to these venerable posts will follow.

Furlife Wiki Wiki Web

Wikifur An experimental colaboration service using TWiki where anyone registered can edit a shared website of furry information, ideas and resources. The philosophy of a Wiki Web is similar in respects to the original ideas in the alt.lifestyle.furry charter and FAQ.

The Wiki project is now closed. Please use and update WikiFur instead.

Furlife Webring

The web ring for those who adhere to a "furry lifestyle", and their thoughts about themselves and their condition as well as all the usual stuff you'd expect from furrys' homepages. Originally founded by Webkitty (KuroNeko) the ring is now being run be a committee of furs in her absence. Follow the links below to chase the ring, or apply to have your own site included.
